Rosamay Shoemaker

Services for Rosamay "Rosie" Shoemaker, 88, of Burlington, were held June 4 at Jubilee Fellowship Church, Flora. Pastor Jim Franklin and Pastor Scott Gamel officiated. Burial was at Zion Citizen's Cemetery, Bringhurst.

She died unexpectedly at 6:58 p.m. May 31, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

Born Oct. 7, 1918, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Jesse and Ida James Wilson. She graduated from Cutler High School in 1936. On Feb. 19, 1938, at Middlefork, she married James A. Shoemaker, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1994.

Mrs. Shoemaker was retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo, where she was employed for 27 years.

She was a member of the Flora Grace Brethren Church.

She also enjoyed painting and authored a recipe book.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald Shoemaker (wife: Betty Joyce) of Kokomo and James Shoemaker (wife: Polly) of Wynona Lake; two daughters, Judith Huse (husband: Ed) of Monticello and Jo Lynn Collins (husband: Antony) of Bringhurst; a sister, Josephine Nichols of Logansport; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Wilson and Kenneth Keyes, and a sister, Marilyn Sue Wise.

Memorials may be made to the Flora Grace Brethren Church.
