Lee J. Kuns Lee J. Kuns, 73, of rural Flora, passed away June 9, 2007, at 9:20 a.m. at Seton Specialty Healthcare inside St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. He had been a patient there since April 23. He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Carroll County, to Chester and Opal May Layman Kuns. His first marriage was to Phyllis Miller on April 12, 1953, in Arcanum, Ohio. She preceded him in death Nov. 13, 1961. His second marriage was to Miriam R. Kimmel on Feb. 3, 1963, in Brookville, Ohio, and she survives. He attended the former Camden High School. He graduated in 1957 from Gruen Watch Making Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Kuns was in the watch/clock repair business for a total of 42 years and owned Kuns Watch Service for 40 1/2 years before retiring in 2002. He also farmed in Carroll County. He was a member of Bachelor Run Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Flora. Surviving are two daughters, Sue Ann Brubaker (husband: Michael) of Eaton, Ohio, and Karen Cottrell (husband: Richard) of Camden; five sons, Steve Kuns (wife: Juanita) of Flora, David Kuns (wife: Carla) of Zillah, Wash., Dennis Kuns (wife: Lisa) of Camden, Gary Kuns (wife: Diane) of Delphi and Gordon Kuns (wife: Lorraine) of Cutler; three sisters, Martha Wolf of Rossville, Naomi Markley of Baldwin City, Kan., and Eula Flora (husband: Bob) of Pleasant Hill, Ohio; a brother, Marlin Kuns (wife: Janice) of Twelve Mile; 29 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Kuns was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jeremy and Shane Kuns, an infant sister, Flora Maxine Kuns, two sisters, Maggie Markley and Sarah Flora, a brother, Melvin Kuns, and an infant grandson. Services were held June 12 at Flora Old German Baptist Brethren Church, officiated by home brethren. Burial was at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi was in charge of arrangements. |
