Helen Harshbarger

Helen Marie Harshbarger, 95, of rural Cutler, passed away at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Milner Community Health Care Center in Rossville. She had been a resident there for five months.

She was born Dec. 10, 1911, in Clinton County, to Harry and Mertie Martz Metzger. She graduated from Rossville High School in 1930. On Feb. 2, 1935, in Clinton County, she married Albert Harshbarger. He preceded her on Jan. 19, 1978.

Mrs. Harshbarger was a homemaker and a member of the Rossville Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Harshbarger (wife: Ruth) of Flora; one daughter, Patsy Robertson (husband: Doyal) of Cutler; a daughter-inlaw, Paula Harshbarger of Delphi; two sisters, Opal Felix of Lafayette and Barbara Gable of Rossville; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat grandchildren; 11 greatgreat grandchildren; three stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, with Pastor Allen Weldy officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at at Zion Cemetery near Bringhurst.
