Library Camden "Pioneer Days, Journey on a Wagon Train" is off to a great start at the Camden-Jackson Township Public Library with a large group attending. Miss Deb marked the size of a wagon on the floor of the Reading Room so that the children could see how the families traveled. They also learned the many necessary items needed for the trip. This week's program will be on pioneer food. On June 20, the program will be a trip to Delphi to visit the Carroll County Historical Museum, Canal Interpretive Center, trolley ride and picnic lunch. Permission slips are needed for the trip. Be sure and stop in and checkout a copy of "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls, the Carroll County on the Same Page book selection for this summer. Delphi Friday Morning Book Club will meet June 22 at 9 a.m. to discuss "The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss, led by Kelly Currie. Evening Book Club will meet June 27 and will focus on "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. Discussion will begin at 7 p.m. and will be led by Patsy Scott. In-Stitches Fiber Arts Circle will meet June 25 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in quilting, knitting, spinning or any craft which involves fiber should bring a project to work on and a snack to share. Red Brick Theatre will present Cinderella Aug. 3 and 5 in the Delphi Community High School Little Theatre. The Rogers and Hammerstein musical will be directed by Sara Daly-Brosman. Cast members include Heather Glenn, Brenton Hathaway, Sam Anderson, Joel Enoch, Kayla Gill, Rob Stone, Daly-Brosman, Jenna Buehler, Missy Glenn, Andrew Martin, Brett Rogers, Jimmy Reed, Thomas Glenn, Kelsi Gill, Amanda Merkel, Leigh Replogle and Wanda Finley. Flora-Monroe Township Come to the library for exciting programs this summer! Charlie the "Noise Guy" Williams will be here this Friday, June 15, at 10 a.m. Mr. Williams is a vocal sound effect artist who tells stories using an amazing array of noise imitations. Kids will learn how to make a few sounds and how to put them into their reading! Noisy fun for all ages! Other upcoming programs include "Toby Tyler, or Ten Weeks with the Circus" movie matinee on Friday, June 22; Preschool Patriotic Fun with Miss Deb is July 3; It's All About the Circus! Art Reception July 14; and storyteller Doyne Carson on July 17 during storytime. It's not too late to participate in the "It's All About the Circus!" free art classes. Stop by the main desk or call the library at 967-3912 for more information on the art classes and summer reading clubs. Bring a favorite book that you have read recently to the Saturday Morning Book Club this Saturday at 10 a.m. The theme for next storytime is "Father's Day." Bring Dad, Grandpa or someone special to storytime with you. Join us for preschool storytime Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. Kids can listen to Dial-a- Story 24 hours a day. Call 967- 3814.
