Camden Women's Missionary Society of the Baptist Church will meet June 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Nancy Dillon will give devotions. Hostess will be Mary Whitfield. Bible book of the month is I and II Thessalonians. Camden Woman's Literary Club will meet June 19 to travel to Norway Gardens in Monticello. Afterwards the group will have dessert at The Sportsman Inn. Aim Hi E.H. Club will meet at 7 p.m. June 21 in the home of Justine Crume with Jean Willy assisting. The Tractor Pull committee will meet at 7 p.m. June 19 in the Fireman's Lounge. Camden Community Vacation Bible School was held last week at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Average daily attendance was 81. The closing program was held Friday evening. Next year's VBS program will be June 9-16 at the Baptist Church. Upcoming programs for the Pioneer Days, Journey on a Wagon Train Summer Reading Program are: June 13, Pioneer Food. June 20, Trip to Delphi to the County Historical Museum, Canal Interpretive Center, picnic lunch, and trolley ride. Storytime continues each week on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the library's Reading Room. All area children are welcome. During the last week of school at Camden Elementary a talent show was held with 40 students participating. Participants included: kindergarten - Emily Thompson and Garrett Tomson. First Grade - Morgan Fritz, Brieann Rohrman, Kristina Powlen, Jenna Parrett, Keegan Toole, Cassie Pettiner, Jared Moudy. Second Grade - Ashley Webb, Kayla Fogarasi, Kyleigh Redmon. Third Grade - Madison Hodge, Lacie Tomson, Laura Carbaugh, Tatum Minier, Christina Peterson, Haylee Yerkes, Rylie Best, Alyssa Ballard, Tyler Popejoy, Sierra Bohling, and Cera Flanagan. Fourth Grade - Tyler Puller, Josh Gillam, Avery Boggs, Mikayla Powlen, Haylie Taylor, Caitlyn French, Abby Northrup, Baylee Richards. Fifth Grade - Sarah Fontenot, Danielle Allen, Brooke Piartt, Brett Abramczyk, Bailie Brown, Emma Carpenter. Teacher Sharon Brothers and Maryanna Selvidge performed a duet. Show sponsors were Laura Greene and Joe Brown . |
