Support from parent group appreciated

Over the past several years, teachers and students have always had access to wonderful programs and materials thanks to the generosity of our school's parent-teacher group, the Mighty Oracle Parent group (or MOP Squad).

Without its support, the fundraising and volunteer recruiting would fall more heavily on the school thus limiting many of the things we do on a daily basis.

Our group has raised funds to support students and the school, recruited volunteers to work at the school during the lunch hour to assist students with Reading Counts, supported our teachers and staff with small tokens of appreciation and worked closely with me to have a great celebration to start the school year - the Back-to-School Bash.

I just wanted to thank publicly those parents who have been involved in the group for all they have meant to the students, parents, teachers, staff and administration. You help to make our school a better place. Bill Shidler, Hillcrest principal
