Carroll hires girls' BB coach

Mike McCroskey is the new girls' basketball coach at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School.

He has been the girls' coach at Northwestern High School since 2002, and formerly coached at Kokomo High School and the old Haworth High School. His team's record last season was 18-3.

Carroll School Board officially hired him at a special meeting May 30.

In 23 seasons of coaching, Mc- Croskey's record is 346-144. His teams have won two state titles, one runner-up, four semi-states, seven regionals, and 14 sectionals.

His Kokomo High School team won the North-Central Conference state championship two years in a row - in 1991- 1992 and 1992-1993.

McCroskey coached Indiana All Star players in three seasons. He also coached in the WBCA All American game in 1992-93. He was named conference Coach of the Year twice and was also named WBCA Coach of the Year.

He has taught social studies at Kokomo High School for 25 years, and will continue teaching there.

Clay Hanna was Carroll's previous varsity coach, and Katie Seward has been the interim coach.
