90th birthday open house
Thelma Brown, 2135N. 175W., Flora, will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house on June 16. The event, hosted by her family, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Camden Fireman's Lounge.

The eldest of six children, Mrs. Brown was born June 21, 1917, in London, Ky. Her maiden name was Thelma Johnson.

She pursued a career in teaching, attending Sue Bennet College at London, Ky. After competing her studies, she taught in a one-room schoolhouse. She later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she worked in the Crosley War Factory and met her husband, Everett Brown.

The couple was married in 1944. They resided in Tipton County and she taught school at Russiaville. After moving to the Camden area she taught in the Delphi schools for 23 years, mostly as a first grade teacher. The Browns were married for 54 years before he died.

Mrs. Brown has two sons, Kenneth Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lynn Brown of Flora; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family requests that gifts be omitted, but cards would be appreciated.
