Charles V. Rockey

Pastor Charles V. "Chuck" Rockey, 64, of West Middleton, passed away May 31, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Howard Regional Health Systems in Kokomo.

He was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Kokomo, to George F. and Annabelle Davis Rockey. He graduated from Prairie Township High School in 1961. On Feb. 15, 1963, he married Winifred "Winni" Stroup and she survives.

Pastor Rockey retired in February 2001 from Chrysler Corp., where he worked in the accounting department. He was department chaplain and represented clerical staff and nurses as a union steward for U.A.W. Local 1302.

Pastor Rockey was a member of Alto United Methodist Church. He served as pastor at Hobbs United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. He also served as chaplain at Waterford Health Campus.

Most recently, he was pastor at Burlington United Methodist Church, a position he has held for the past two years.

Surviving withj his wife are his mother, Annabelle Rockey of Kokomo; four children, Lesa L. Brown (husband: Charlie), Monica "MoMo" Wentzel (husband: Robert), Charles D. "Chuck" Rockey and Jennifer A. Lewis (husband: Craig), all of Kokomo; a brother, John T. Rockey (wife: Sue) of Jackson, Mich.; four grandchildren, Bethany Byers, Dakota Goodman, Molly Lewis and Maggie Lewis, all of Kokomo; special family friend, Mark Montgomery of Kokomo; a sister-inlaw, Rachel Rosborough (husband: John) of Kokomo; a brother-in-law, John Stroup of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services were held June 4 at Burlington United Methodist Church, officiated by district superintendent Michelle Cobb and Pastor Tom Watt. Burial was at New London Cemetery.
