A report of a possible abduction was received by local law enforcement at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday. The incident happened at a residence on SR18 west of Delphi.

A 17-year-old female was reported missing at that time but was found at approximately 1:48 p.m. in a pasture 1/4 mile east of the residence. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. The juvenile's condition was not known at press time.

Indiana State Police and Carroll County Sheriff's Office conducted a joint investigation Tuesday afternoon. The suspect was reported to be a white male, 5'8" wearing a black tee shirt and blue jeans. He was wearing some type of mask at the time of the report.

Nine departments responded to the call and five K-9 units were utilized in searching for the suspect in the case. State police deployed their helicopter at approximately 2 p.m. to aid in the manhunt.

"The State Police have many more resources than we do, like the helicopter," sheriff Tony Burns said at the scene Tuesday.

According to Burns, K-9s searched land bordered by CR1150W to CR400N and Tippecanoe Ranch Estates. Camp Tecumseh was put on lock-down until approximately 4:30 p.m. as a safety measure.

"As far as we know, there is no vehicle involved," Burns said.
