Camden American Legion conducted Memorial Day services at 16 area cemeteries on May 28. Fourteen members participated. Jerry Sparks read an article at the Rockfield Cemetery and Pastor Dan Gottschalk gave a short message at Camden Cemetery. Ruby Roberson controlled the sound system. Afterwards, the Legion, Auxiliary, Sons of Legion, friends and families had a carry-in dinner at the Legion Home with 25 attending.

Carroll Chapter Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Masonic Temple. The program will include chapter reports, Father's Day, Flag Day and farewell.

Camden-Jackson Township Public Library board will meet at 7 p.m. June 13 in the Reading Room.

United Methodist Women will meet at 7 p.m. June 14 in the church. Hostess will be Diane Hinkle.

The Summer Reading Program and Storytime starts today, June 6, at the Camden library. They will continue each Wednesday through July 11 at 1 p.m. at the library. The theme is "Pioneer Days, Journey on a Wagon Train." The program is for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Board of Christian Education at the Baptist Church will meet at 7 p.m. June 12 at the church.

Camden Council of Churches will meet at 6:30 p.m. June 13 at the Baptist Church. Plans will be discussed for the community worship service during the town's 175th anniversary celebration. The worship service will be held July 22 in the

Camden School gym.

Community Vacation Bible pays off School continues this week at the Lutheran church, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The closing program will be Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Gene Harter recently celebrated his 75th birthday with a family dinner and open house. Attending the dinner, hosted by his wife, Doris, were Doug, Karen, Ben and Jacob Stevens of Burnettsville, Katherine, Mike, Seth, Spenser, Shelbi and Savannah Forgey of Young America, Shastiney Skaggs of Kokomo, Shawn and Jackson Harter, and Jeff, Joyce and Ryan Harter of Camden, and John and Cody Harter of Flora.

Thirteen members of the Aim Hi E.H. Club met recently in the home of Mary Trapp with Jean Willy assisting. Devotions were given by the hostess. The lesson, "Healthy Homes: What to Do About Moles." Was presented by Sharon Ashby. The anniversary song honored Barb Jones. Prize winners were Maryanne Berkshire and Joan Rogers.

Camden Lions Club met recently in the Fireman's Lounge with ten members and two guests, District Governor-elect Ron Spivey and his wife, Tess, attending. New officers are: Mark Abbott, president; Loren Hylton, first chair; Ron King, second chair; Rob Appleton, third chair; Jill Moudy, secretary; Eric Foreman, treasurer; Jimpsie Doyel, tale twister; Maxine Snider, Lion Tamer; Bill Dittman, membership chairman. Directors include Brice Miller and Kenny Berkshire, two-year terms, and David Jeffery and Rob Carpenter, one-year terms.
