Carroll hires girls' BB coach

      Mike McCroskey is the new girls' basketball coach at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School. He has been the girls' coach at Northwestern High School since 2002, and formerly coached at Kokomo High School and the old Haworth High School. His team's record last season was 18-3.

Special Olympians win gold at Indiana Summer Games

      Thirty-six year-old Doug McCarty of Flora earned four gold medals in track events at the Special Olympic Summer Games held at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, over the weekend. McCarty took first place in the 100, 200, 400 and 800 meter runs. He also earned a bronze medal in the 1500.
