Oracles win last seven regular season games The Delphi Oracle baseball team finished regular season with a 13-15 record, including winning their last seven games. Their last game was against Sheridan, a Hoosier Conference foe, winning 12-1. With the win the Oracles finished second in the conference with an 8-4 record. All- Hoosier Conf erenc e selections were Kyle Bender, Mike Myers, Dustin Oliver and Coy Pennington. Andrew Cebulla took the win on the mound against the Blackhawks, striking out six and allowing only two hits. The Oracles had 11 hits in just five innings, led by Oliver, Neil Snoeberger and Matt Lewis, all with two hits. Earlier last week, Delphi scored seven runs in the first inning and went on to easily defeat Rossville 27-5. Gerran Wilson hit a grand slam in that inning. In the second inning Myers hit a three run homer. Austin Beamer had three hits. Pennington got the win on the mound, throwing to teammate Miguel Montero. These two seniors led the Oracle attack. The Oracle team defeated Sheridan 14-4 last Tuesday. The Oracles jumped out on top in the first inning scoring six runs. Oliver and Andrew Cebulla hit two run home runs in the first inning. The Oracles pounded out 16 hits in the five-inning affair. Wilson and Snoeberger led the hit parade with three apiece. Andrew Flora had four runs batted in with two hits of his own. Bender got the win on the mound, striking out 11 Blackhawk hitters. |
