4-Hers Share the Fun at contest

The annual Share-the-Fun Contest talent show was held May 4 in the Delphi Community High School Little Theater. A total of 87 4-H members participated in 14 acts that were divided into group, musical and non-musical categories.

In the group category, "A Hee Haw of a Good Time," presented by Deer Creek Delphiniums 4-H Club, won first place. Second place went to Rock Creek Renegades 4-H Club for "Fun in the Sun 4-H Camp." Deer Creek Delphiniums and Madison Magnificents 4-H Club received third place for "This is the Club That Jack Is In." Also performed was "4-H Goes Hollywood."

In the musical category, first place went to violin duet Susie and Vivian Haley of Rock Creek Renegades 4-H Club for their rendition of "Amazing Grace." Second place was awarded to Chloe Fivecoate and Sam Anderson from Rock Creek Renegades 4-H Club for a vocal performance of "Listen to Your Heart." Lena Schock from Deer Creek Delphiniums received third place for her piano solo "Moonlight Sonata." Vocal duet May and Katy Nichols from Burlington Wildcats 4-H Club performed "I Believe."

Non-musical performances included first-place winner "Adventures in Babysitting," a skit by Megan and Dakota Veach from Rock Creek Renegades 4-H Club. Folk routine "V'Ahavta" by Joy Luper and Susie, Robyn and Valerie Haley from Rock Creek Renegades received second place. A tie was announced for third place between "Polka," a ballet dance routine by Betsy Nichols from the Burlington Wildcats 4-H Club, and "Make-up 101," a skit by Grace Hampton and Brooke Beale from Deer Creek Delphiniums. Also performed were "Little Old Lady from Pasadena," a lip sync by Kyle Christiansen and Jonell, Mathew and Nichole Randle from the Tippecanoe Triumphs 4-H club, and "Hip Hop Dance Routine" by Taylor Thompson from Deer Creek Delphiniums.

First place acts competed in the Area 8 Share-the-Fun contest May 11 at St. John The Baptist School in Tipton, where Carroll County 4-Hers won top honors. "A Hee Haw of a Good Time" won second place. "Adventures in Babysitting" and musical act "Amazing Grace" placed first and will have the opportunity to perform in June at State 4-H Round-Up at Purdue University.
