When the 1982 Senior class marches in at the Delphi Community High School commencement on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scott will be watching a familiar scene with mixed emotions. Jeff, their tenth child to graduate from Delphi will be in the class. One the same date in 1957, their eldest son, Ronald graduated from Delphi High School. The have had a student in school at Delphi continuously for 29 years and Charles Geheb has taught all of them. All of their children have attended college at either Indiana State or Purdue with their youngest planning to attend Purdue in the fall.
Although it will be different for the couple not to have the school bus stopping at their house next fall after 37 years, they will maintain their association with Delphi Community High School since they also work there as custodians.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Williams had tremendous luck as they got into the thick of their harvest of mushrooms. Russ reported sitting in one spot and cutting off 54 of them, all good size.
The Williams were not too optimistic when they started on their hunt, for each carried only a quart freezer bag in which to place what they might find. When they came upon the thickly populated patch, things began to happen. The bags were filled in no time; next it was Russ' cap, then his shirt, buttoned and with his sleeves tied; next his undershirt came off to make another container. Meanwhile his wife was piling what she gathered on the ground and was shouting for advice. He warned her to keep quiet lest she would attract other hunters, then dashed into Deer Creek, waded the high swift waters and ran to a house to ask for a basket. Rufusing a small market basket, then a tomato hamper, he spied a large clothes basket and received permission to use it and finally got them home.

Contractor William Young, from French Lick, with a big force of men and teams arrived this morning to begin grading on the interurban about Cox's crossing. The traction people also commenced overhead work at Burrows this morning. It looks like Delphi could have a 4th of July celebration in honor of the arrival of the first car.
