Junior E. Maxwell

Junior E. Maxwell, 88, of 917E. 300N., Camden, passed away May 10, 2007, at 12:55 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. He had been a resident there since May 8 and in failing health the past few months.

He was born May 9, 1919, in Carroll County, to Ellis and Olee Meador Maxwell. His marriage was to Doris M. Robbins in Pettit on Dec. 24, 1941, and she survives.

Mr. Maxwell was a 1938 graduate of Burlington High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., as an M.P. during World War II.

He farmed in Carroll County's Jackson Township all of his life. He sold Moorm a n ' s Feed and Todd's Seed Corn for several years. He managed the Carroll County Transfer Station for eight years.

Mr. Maxwell was a Carroll County Commissioner for two terms.

He and his wife belonged to Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren. He also belonged to Camden American Legion Post #413.

He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. They were everything to him.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Ginny Yoder (husband: Gary) of Flora; two sons, Richard Maxwell (wife: Connie) of Lafayette and Robin Maxwell (wife: Carolyn) of Camden; two brothers, Virgil Maxwell (wife: Laura) of Flora and Perry Maxwell (wife: Rachel) of Delphi; two sisters-in-law, Lois Maxwell of Flora and Helen Maxwell of Warsaw; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Services were held Monday at the Flora United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Wilhelm and the Rev. Larry DeVos officiated. Burial was at Musselman Cemetery near Camden with Camden American Legion Post #413 military rites.
