Oracles win tennis invitational

The Oracles captured first place at the annual Delphi Girls' Tennis Invitational held Saturday.
Jacquelynn Richardson (D) defeated county rival, Jennifer Hardyniec, from Carroll to win the individual medal honors at number one singles. Haley Richardson (D) defeated Grace Green from Rensselaer for the medal at number two singles. The number two doubles team of Amber Caputo and Nicole Springer lost their first round to Benton Central. Caputo teamed up with Ali Canen to defeat the Carroll duo of Hannah Jascur and Kaylee Morehouse in the first round of the consolation bracket, earning a sixth place finish. Katie Mullin and Kelsie Blickenstaff (D) earned a fourth place finish at number two doubles with a Taylor default in the first round and then losing a close match against Alyssa Miller and Briana Roach from Twin Lakes 7- 5, 6-7, 10-7 tiebreaker.
Team standings were: Delphi 21, Western 15, Rensselaer 11, Benton Central 9, Twin Lakes 9, Taylor 9, Carroll 5, Guerin 5.
Individual standings were:
No. 1 Singles - 1 Delphi, 2 Carroll, 3 Twin Lakes Kylie Windler, 4 Rensselaer, 5 Western, 6 Benton Central.
No. 2 Singles - 1 Delphi, 2 Rensselaer, 3 Twin Lakes Jessica Collins, 4 Benton Central, 5 Western, 6 Guerin.
