STERLING CARTER of Flora was recognized at the annual Wabash College Student Awards and Honors Program.
Carter, a senior and son of Byron and Wyndham Carter, received the Walter L. Fertig Prize in English and distinction on his senior comprehensive examinations.
The Walter L. Fertig Prize in English is given to a member of the senior class who, in the judgment of the English Department, has accomplished distinguished work in his study of English and American literature.
Wabash College is a private liberal arts college for men located in Crawfordsville.
RACHEL ATCHISON of Flora was named Outs t a n d i n g New Member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority at the recent G r e e k Awards Night held at William Woods University. The banquet honors chapters and individuals for their achievements within the Greek community and for their leadership.
In addition, Alpha Chi Omega received the Outstanding Philanthropy and Service Award for its work with Victims of Domestic Violence and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.
AMY BROWN of rural Delphi graduated May 6 with honors from Ivy Tech State College during a ceremony held in Elliot Hall of Music at Purdue University. Her course of study was respiratory therapy.
Brown is employed at Memorial Hospital in Logansport. She and her husband, Jason, have two children, Levi and Katie.
