Connecting with creativity
Abby Ruse and fellow fifthgraders followed the "Pigcasso" theme of this year's Jack Sanders' Delphi Art Show when they created pig sculptures (lower left) made from two-liter cola bottles. Artwork will continue to be on display in Delphi Community High School through May 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jack Sanders, the former DCHS art teacher after whom the art show was renamed, (right) was in attendance opening day. He said he enjoyed the exhibits and opportunities to converse with visitors. Steve Miller of rural Frankfort (upper left) said he decided to attend the exhibit when he visited friends in the area last weekend. Proceeds from purchases he made of pottery, jewelry and framed photography support artists who created the works and Delphi Fine Arts Council. "This is such a great event for a small community," Miller commented. "It makes a great impact on kids' lives not only to be able to make art but to have the opportunity to display it." Comet
