Delphi CWF

The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met May 1 for their annual Spring Banquet.

Following the carry-in dinner, Fairy Hackerd had a few games and prizes for the group.

Cindi Lashley entertained with some songs.

Doyne Carson, a storyteller from Battle Ground, provided the program for the evening.

Officers elected for next year are: Jackie Paris, president; Fairy Hackerd, vice president; Winnie Beard, secretary; and Nancy Cripe, treasurer.

The next meeting will be June 5 at the church with Sharon Quinn as hostess.

Delphi Lions

Delphi Lions Club met May 2 at the Stone Barn. Guest speaker Charly Short discussed cancer, noting that lung cancer is most prevalent at a 6-1 ratio.

Al Rossi and Kenny Scott were welcomed as new members. Trash pick-up is May 9. The district picnic will be May 19 at Prophetstown State Park.

The next meeting will be May 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Delphi Presbyterian Church (across from the library.)
