Announcements DELPHI ODD FELLOWS will meet May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the lodge hall, 209 S. Washington St. During the meeting, the group will host an evening meal to honor Delphi Tri-County Volunteer Firefighters' efforts to protect the city of Delphi. FUN DAY FOR SECONDGRADERS, sponsored by Carroll County 4-H, will be May 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Second graders and parents are invited to a FREE Mini-4-H Fun Day at the 4-H Community Building in Flora. The program includes 'hands-on' activities such as dogs, bicycles, rockets and space, sand art and foods. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and fruit kebabs lunches will be prepared at the workshop. CAMDEN 175TH CELEBRATION COMMITTEE will hold a community meeting May 7 at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Camden. All interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to attend. NATIONAL TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK begins May 6. First Assembly of God Pastor Brent Oliver has invited Superintendent of Delphi Community School Corporation Ralph Walker to speak Sunday at 6 p.m. Walker will speak about the changing nature of education and how those in the Christian community can pray for, help and impact the local schools. First Assembly is located on US421 at the top of Pittsburg Hill, two miles north of SR25. PURDUE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION/CARROLL COUNTY will host the next Horticulture Series program May 9 at 9 a.m. in the 4-H Exhibit Building at Flora. The group will visit a nearby tree farm. Proper tree transplanting and commercial tree production practices will be discussed. Questions concerning tree care will be answered. In case of inclement weather, Paul Marcellino, Extension Educator, will present a program about spring lawn care. Members of a PURDUE UNDERGRADUATE CLASS in Landscape Architecture will present their semester project at 7:30 p.m. May 3 at the Canal Center. The Carroll County Wabash & Erie Canal Association is hosting the presentation. The students' efforts have been directed at "Trails and river access points on the Wabash River in Carroll County." The public is invited to attend, listen and comment on their plan. Carroll County YMCA is having CARDIO CAMP on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 a.m. For more information, call the YMCA at 967-4449. |
