Alpaca shearing event is Saturday Heritage Farm Suri Alpacas announces that its annual alpaca shearing day will be April 28. Open to the public, this event allows the curious to discover what alpacas are all about. The farm is owned by Tim and Beth Sheets and is located at 4175N 1200W, Flora. Visitors will watch as 20 alpacas are transformed from fully fleeced beauties to skinny-necked curiosities. They will witness how this luxurious fiber is used to make articles of clothing through spinning, felting, and dyeing demonstrations. Kids will get a chance to learn about the alpaca obstacle course through demonstrations by local 4-H'ers.
