Oracles slip to 2-6 It was a tough weekend for the Delphi Oracles baseball team. They lost to Frankfort Friday night and a double header at Taylor on Saturday. At Frankfort, the Oracles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Oracles could not sustain the lead. Andrew Flora and Michael Myers led the Oracle offense with two hits apiece. Kyle Bender took the loss on the mound, allowing only six hits and one earned run. At Taylor, in game one the Oracles got only one hit from catcher Coy Pennington. Andrew Cebulla took the loss on the mound, allowing only five hits on three runs. The Taylor pitcher had 17 strikeouts. In game two the Oracles fought back and lost 11-6. Myers had four hits in four trips. He had two triples and two singles. Dustin Oliver picked up the loss on the mound. The Oracles are now 2-6 on the season and will begin Hoosier Conference play this week against Twin Lakes. |
