Atchison
STERLING CARTER of Flora has been elected to the Wabash College chapter of Phi Beta Kappa national honorary society.

The oldest American fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa was founded at the College of William and Mary in 1776. The Wabash chapter, Beta of Indiana, was founded in 1898 and each year elects as members students of good moral character and exceptionally high academic accomplishment.

Carter, an English/theater double major, is the son of Byron and Wyndham Carter of Flora. He is a senior.

RACHEL ATCHISON of Flora, a freshman at Wi l l i a m Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a S t u d e n t A l u m n i Council Outstanding Freshman Award at the university's co-curricular honors banquet April 18. An equestrian science major, she is the daughter of Michael and Susan Clark.

The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.

Atchison is a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, the Western Club, Campus Activities Board and participates in Up Til Dawn which raises funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Stiller
Her community service includes volunteering at a Fulton nursing home, raising money and awareness for CARD-V (Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence), volunteering at the Take Back the Night awareness event and participating in campus blood drives.

KATHERINE COHEE of Burlington has been inducted into the Indiana University Kokomo chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Faculty members nominate students in their discipline for Alpha Chi membership and nominees must place in the top 10 percent of their class academically. Cohee is majoring in nursing.

LINDSAY STILLER, a senior at Carroll, has been named a regional finalist in the Indianapolis Star's selection of Academic All-Stars.

From all the nominees across the state, 40 A c a d e m i c A l l - S t a r s were named and 48 regional finalists. The state was divided into five regions, and Stiller is one of six finalists in Region B.

Selection for Academic All-Stars is based on academics, community service, and leadership.

Stiller is the daughter of Bob and Becky Stiller of Flora.
