Library News Delphi Elementary and middle school students are invited to a movie and popcorn for "Kid Flick" April 27 at 2 p.m. The movie tells the story of Roddy, a pampered pet mouse living the posh life in his owners' Kensington flat. Call Children's Librarian Marcia Sledd at the library if you would like to come to this free event. April showers bring May flowers and this anticipated percipitation inspires the story theme for April 23, "Rain! Rain!" are stories, songs and games to entertain and educate babies, toddlers, preschoolers and caregivers. Splash in puddles, sing while it sprinkles and learn some fun spring time nature facts. Baby Lapsit at 9:30, Toddlers at 10, and Preschool at 11:30 a.m. Caregivers should attend with their child. Tuesday Afternoon Drawing Class will have its year-end show in the Gerber Globe Valve Room April 27 through May 17. The exhibit, "A Snapshot of Main Street," will include pencil, pen and watercolor works created over the last eight months. A special feature of the show is a collaborative work depicting a portion of Main Street at the turn of the century. Students have created drawings of historic buildings, pedestrians and ordinary objects which will be placed together to create a mural depicting life in 1905 Delphi. Flora-Monroe Township The Saturday morning book club will meet this Saturday to discuss "All Over but the Shoutin'" by Rick Bragg. A celebrated Pulitzer Prizewinning New York Times reporter turns his investigative attention to his own past: growing up poor and making his way from rural Alabama to the top of his profession. In this sad, beautiful, funny memoir, Bragg gives a report from the forgotten heart of "white trash" America. The discussion begins at 10 a.m. in the library's Book Nook Coffee Shop. Call Dial-A-Story to hear James Whitcomb Riley poems performed by Carroll Elementary fourth graders. Madison Rinehart can be heard reciting, "The Jaybird" through Friday. After that, the featured student will be, Danielle Amsbury performing, "Little Girl, Two Little Girls." Call Dial-A-Story 24 hours a day, 967-3814. The theme for next storytime is "Gardens."
