The little burg of Geetingsville was the scene of an expensive and exciting fire and as a result the only business establishment of the place was destroyed. The store is owned and operated by C.J. Buck. The fire broke out from a defective flue. Mr. Buck and his family reside in apartments in the rear end of the building but they did not know that it was afire until a passerby saw the blaze coming through the roof and gave the alarm. The fire spread very rapidly however, and but little or none of the goods were saved. However, by the assistance of a bucket brigade, the fire was held in such control that most of the household goods were saved.
