Meetings Associate chapter of Tri Kappa met April 10 at Wild Creek Bed and Breakfast. Hostesses were Doris Goslee and Mary Ellen Campbell. Officers for 2007-08 were announced as follows: Patsy McCammack, president; Marjorie Clifford, vice president; Mary Brown, treasurer; and Mary Wesner, secretary. Pat Duff and Earleen Alvarez will attend the state convention in Indianapolis. Officers will be installed at the May 8 meeting. Wednesday Forum Members of Wednesday Forum met at the home of Jan Hathaway for the April meeting. Alice Christian gave a book review of "You're Only Young Twice: 10 Do-Overs to Reawaken Your Spirit," written by Rhonda Beaman, EdD. A survey was administered to help identify where individuals are on the youthfulto aged spectrum. Survey items included: I am in control of my life; I enjoy celebrating my birthday; I know when to say no; When in a crowd, I feel like one of the youngest people there; and I like to taste new and different food. "It's not the years themselves that diminish us, but the way we have learned to live them," Beaman writes. Classy Classics EH Classy Classics Extension Homemakers Club met April 9 at the home of Melverine Hufty with 14 members present. Devotions were presented by Judy Downham. "Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are endless." Marian Eller presented a health and safety article on osteoarthritis. Jeannette Crum presented a lesson on "What do Quilts Tell Us?" Kathy Northcutt gave a lesson on "Healthy Eating Out." Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Melverine Hufty and MaryAnna Scott. |
