Rhine's celebrate 60th anniversary

John and Ruth Rhine of Delphi will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday.

Rhine and the former Ruth Marie Hildebrandt were married in Delphi at the Methodist Church on April 13, 1947. He is retired from Public Service Indiana, where he worked as a line serviceman. She retired from the former Hometown Federal Savings & Loan in Delphi, where she worked as a loan officer.

The couple has been active in the Delphi United Methodist Church. They own a small where after retirement they built their dream house. He designed the house and used lumber from their woods to build it. She crocheted the curtains and did much of the finish work in the house.

They have also enjoyed visiting family and friends in most of the states over the years.

They have three daughters, Marie Harris (husband: Charles) of Carmel, Ellen Hostetler (husband: James) of Tucson, Ariz., and Nancy Farrier (husband: John) of Apple Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
