YMCA is hosting Healthy Kids Day

Carroll County YMCA is hosting its fourth annual Healthy Kids Day on April 14.

The event helps teach children and families how to be and stay healthy.

The day will begin with a kick-off walk at 8:45 a.m. A free T-shirt will be given to the first 50 kids participating. Other activities will run from 9 a.m. until noon.

Healthy Kids Day is geared toward children but is educational for the whole family. Organizations who are participating or contributing to the event are: Flora Police Department (bicycle safety), Sheriff's Department (K9 unit), Carroll County EMS (ambulance), Flora Volunteer Fire Department (fire truck), Poison Control, Flora Library, Dr. Steven Herr's office (dental hygienist), Stephan's IGA, and Coca- Cola. Other activities will include a coloring contest and moon walk. Carroll County Pork Producers will be serving pork burgers.

Healthy Kids Day is free and available to everyone.

The Carroll County Family YMCA is located at 908 East Columbia Street, Flora.
