IYI accepting nominations for youth investment awards The Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is currently accepting nominations for its 2007 Indiana Youth Investment Awards, which will recognize ten nonprofit organizations for their outstanding efforts on behalf of Indiana youth. Nominees may be youth-serving organizations, schools or specific programs that directly serve children and youth. Winners will receive a $5,000 cash award to be used for professional development and to enhance their work with youth. Award winners will also receive free admission for two to the Indiana Youth Institute's 2007 Kids Count in Indiana Conference Dec. 5 and 6. "The Indiana Youth Investment Awards shine the spotlight on individuals and organizations whose innovative approaches to youth development are making a positive difference in the lives of kids," said Bill Stanczykiewicz, president and CEO of the Indiana Youth Institute. "The winners stand as examples from which other youth-serving agencies can learn and give communities reason to celebrate the outstanding work going on in their midst." Self-nominations will be accepted. Nomination criteria and applications for the Indiana Youth Investment Awards can be obtained through IYI's Web site, http://www.iyi.org/yia . The application deadline is June 1. For additional information, call IYI at 800-343-7060. |
