Martin
March was the last month for the Book It program at Carroll Elementary School. Three hundred and five tickets were turned in for the drawing. Students who won a free book were: BRAYSON LEAZENBY, kindergarten; HUNTER BLADES, first grade; EMILY WAGONER, second; CHERYL GREEN, third; BRANDON DILLON, fourth; BRANDON MCCARTY, fifth; and GAVIN HANCOCK, sixth grade. Students who read all six months for Book-It will receive a special prize in May.

Five Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School students recently served as Senate pages for Senator Brandt Hershman (R-Wheatfield) and Senator Tom Weatherwax (R-Logansport). They spent a day at the State House assisting the senators and Senate staff members with a variety of legislative duties and learning about the structure of Indiana's government.

BRITTANEY MAUER of Battle Ground, has been named to the winter quarter dean's list at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute.

JOHNATHAN RICHARD NEWELL of Delphi has accepted membership in Golden Key International Honour Society. He was honored during a recent induction ceremony at Purdue University.

Golden Key is a non-profit organization which provides academic recognition to college juniors and seniors in the top 15- percent of their class along with leadership development opportunities, community service, career networking and scholarships. Membership is by invitation only to students in all fields of study. The society is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
