Carroll County Sheriff Sergeant MARK S. BACK and Major TOBE H. LEAZENBY recently attended a three-day seminar in Indianapolis about first line supervision, leadership, and management skills.

The seminar was held at the Public Agency T r a i n i n g Council training facility. Course topics dealt with the fundamentals of leadership, human behavior, leadership traits and principals, supervisory responsibilities, performance evaluations and supervisory liability.

Instruction was provided by Randy King, certified public manager with the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.

"Having our command officers attend this training is yet another example of our organization continuing to grow and improve so we can better serve our community," said Carroll County Sheriff Tony Burns.

JANICE ROE, Delphi City clerk-treasurer, joined other clerktreasurers, clerks and deputy clerks from across the state in Muncie for professional education advancement at the 12th annual Indiana League of Municipal Clerks' Institute/Academy.

Classes at the academy included contract law, excel, IRS issues and capital asset accounting. Personal skills courses included CPR certification and discovering common ground among elected officials.

Upon completion of the sessions, Roe earned credit toward certification through the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers, the International League of Municipal Clerks and the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada.

KYLE GRONINGER, Delphi, agent with Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, has successfully completed the necessary requirements to become a registered representative with EquiTrust Marketing Services LLC, Indianapolis, a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers.
