Ruth Stonebraker Gordon
Born Jan. 7, 1920, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of John C. and Lydia Sink Moore. She graduated from Cutler High School in 1938. Her marriage to W.W. Gordon was on July 28, 1965, in Reno, Nev. He died Dec. 1, 2002. She had resided in Lafayette since 2002 when she moved there after living 25 years in Florida. Mrs. Gordon was retired from Hospice of Southwest Florida. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for L.M. Chittick & Son in Flora and Sayco in Flora. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of the Brethren, Bradenton, Fla., where she served as chairman of the deacon board from 1987 to 1992. Surviving are two sons, Richard Stonebraker (wife: Donna) of Flora and Jeffery Stonebraker (wife: Teresa) of Lafayette; a nephew, Robert Moore (wife: Ginny) of Palm Springs, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Baker Funeral Home, Flora. Pastor Jeff Tomson will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
