DCMS swimmers defeat four teams

Carroll swim awards presented The 2006-2007 Carroll High School swim team held its awards banquet Feb. 28. The Delphi Community Middle School swim team had an outstanding week, defeating Rensselaer 108-77, Pioneer 139- 48 and winning a three-way meet against Benton Central and Kankakee Valley. Scores were: Delphi A-team 151, Benton Central 106, Kankakee Valley 70. Delphi B-team 174, Benton Central 89 and Kankakee Valley 58.

Against Rensselaer, Delphi won six events and used its depth for the win with several second, third and fourth place finishes. First places went to Jordan Hudelson, 100 IM; Alex Price, 50 freestyle; Jonelle Randle, diving; Annie Mose, 50 butterfly and 400 freestyle; and the 200 freestyle relay team of Keaton Garrison, Hudelson, Abbey Mose and Alex Price.

Against Pioneer, first places went to the 200 medley relay team of Alison Million, Hudelson, Grace Currie and Vaniessa Rohrman; Abbey Mose, 200 freestyle; Annie Mose, 100 IM and 100 backstroke; Keaton Garrison, 50 free; Justin Bennett, diving; Rohrman, 50 butterfly; Brianna Walters, 100 freestyle; Erika Matrica, 400 freestyle; and 200 freestyle relay team of Garrison, Rollie Taylor, Justin Bennett and Alex Price; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Abbey Mose, Windell, Matrica and Walters.

In the three-way meet, Oracle winners in the A meet were: 200 medley relay team of Payton Windell, Jordan Hudelson, Annie Mose and Keaton Garrison; Abbey Mose, 200 freestyle; Alex Price, 50 freestyle; Annie Mose. 50 butterfly and 400 freestyle; the 200 freestyle relay team of Garrison, Hudelson, Abbey Mose and Price; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Abbey Mose, Annie Mose, Erika Matrica and Price.

DCMS winners for the B meet were: 200 medley relay team of Emily Layman, Keltie McLeland, Kyle Miller and Taylor Saul; Taylor Thompson, 200 freestyle; Vaniessa Rohrman, 100 IM; Shelby Disinger, 50 freestyle; Bridget Floyd, diving; Miller, 50 butterfly; Justin Chorrushi, 100 freestyle; Brianna Walters, 400 freestyle; Layman, 100 backstroke; 200 freestyle relay team of Zakk Hackerd, Payton Roswarski, Alyssa Dunn and Disinger; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Chorrushi, Roswarski, Disinger and Taylor Saul.
