Alisha Frist, Frontier senior
Alisha Frist,18, Battle Ground, is the daughter of David and Shirley Frist.
The Frontier senior was nominated by her family and consumer science teacher, Peg Arqerbright, who also serves as the FACS Club sponsor.
Frist serves her community by helping with various church functions such as the Summer Bible School in which she has worked as the arts and crafts leader. She attends annual parish picnics. She serves through the Student Council by doing projects that give back to the school directly and affect the families in the local area. She is also involved in the Sunshine Society by aiding non-profit organizations such as Riley Hospital.
She is involved in several other groups which include FACS Club- Student Council Representative, Secretary for the National Honors Society, Sunshine Society scrapbook officer, Prairie Home Environment 4-H Club Recreation Leader, yearbook staff, school newspaper staff, Summer Midwest Volleyball League, volleyball team, volleyball captain for two years, sophomore year on the track and field team, Winter Club Volleyball (The Force), St. Mary's Church Youth Group, 10-year member of 4-H, three years in Spanish, Student Council, and chosen as a Herald Journal Scholar- Athlete.
She is also a Junior Leader who has helped make care packages for soldiers in Iraq, has adopted a spot at the White County 4-H Fairgrounds, and has won various awards for her artwork. She generously gives her time to the White County Food Pantry, helps with kids' camps, assists in the elementary school's math and reading nights, and actively raises money for Riley Children's Hospital.
Other extracurricular activities include attending Hoosier Girls State, making favors for the nursing home, helping design and create bulletin boards around the school including the IHSAA and the Riley Hospital bulletin boards, Hillebrand Food Court, helping at the Purdue Boilermaker Kids Camp, senior breakfast, cleaning gardens at the antique shop in Battle Ground, designing and helping paint the B r o o k s t o n Sesquicentennial Mural, and completing fundraisers for 4-H.
On her free time, she likes to practice piano and violin so that she can participate in recitals, concerts and duets with other m u s i - cians. She e n j o y s reading, drawing, painting, traveling, shopping, spending time with f riends and family, listening to music, and watching movies. To stay active, she likes to jog, swim, play volleyball, and go on long bike rides in the country.
Her academic accomplishments include maintaining an A-average in algebra I, geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus, and A.P. calculus; Academic Honors Student who is second in her class and excels in leadership. Her grade point average is 3.88/4.00.
