Kira Reisert, Frontier senior
Kira Reisert, 18, Chalmers, is the daughter of Dennis and Carol Reisert.
The Frontier senior was nominated by her the school's guidance secretary, Kimberly McCutchan, who also serves as the Sunshine Society Sponsor at Frontier.
Reisert has worked in the hospitality room during basketball games and helped with the school's senior breakfast for three years. She helps the community by planting and weeding flower beds for the town. She also volunteers at the White County Food Pantry every Monday for two hours and makes favors for the nursing home in Monticello.
Her extracurricular activities include Sunshine Society, president for one year; band for four years, treasurer and president for one year each; Student Class Officer, treasurer junior and senior year; Student Council and super mileage representative for one year; FACS Club; 4-H Junior Leaders for four years and Ag Association Representative for three years; 10-year 4-H Club member; and during the summer of 2006 was a temporary Lab Technician at the Purdue University Animal Science where she ran energies, phosphorus, and nitrogen on samples, ground samples, collected samples, and fed chickens that were used as samples.
Her activities include volleyball and softball for two years.
Her academic achievements include Hoosier Girls State Delegate, Presidential Award for Academic Excellence, Patrick S. Gilmore Award, and Honor Roll for four years. She is beginning her second semester with a grade point average of 3.72 on a 4-point grading scale. She ranks fifth out of 56 in her class.
