Michelle Burke, Twin Lakes junior

Michelle Burke, 16, is the daughter of Tim and Julie Burke.

The Twin Lakes junior was nominated by her friend, James D. Mann.

Burke has been involved in the Helping Hands program assisting an elderly lady, has been in the Carroll County 4-H for nine years, works at the White County Food Pantry, and helps at the Monticello Church "Soup for the Soul."

She has been on the all "A" Honor Roll since sixth grade and carries an 11.3 grade point average. She is ranked fourth in her class out of 197 students. She also placed second in the Rotary Speech Contest and placed fifth in the Sons of the American Revolution Speech contest.

Her extracurricular activities include cross country, and swimming, diving, and softball for three years. She has also participated in the fall and spring school plays for three years. She is in the Singsations choral group, Student Council, Spanish Club, History Club, Stock Market Club, Winter Dance Committee, Prom Committee, and the "Roadies" Student Fan Club.
