Alyssa Billue, 16, Buffalo, is the daughter of Michael and Lupe Billue.
The North White junior was nominated by herself.
Billue has volunteered hanging up Christmas lights for the City Park, worked at the Tri-Kappa booth at the county fair, and worked in an ice cream stand at the Monon Food Fest.
She has been on the A Honor Roll every year and is ranked first in her class. Her grade point average is 3.97/4.00.
She won second place in the Voice of Democracy School Contest. She also attended the HOBY Seminar in the summer of 2005.
She also received the President's Education Award.
Her ISTEP scores were 640 for English/language arts and 661 for mathematics.
Her extracurricular activities are Honor Society, Student Council secretary for three years, German Club, and she has played volleyball and softball in which she received letters in volleyball and softball twice. She danced on the dance team her sophomore year and was on the prom committee.
Veronica S.Beckefeld, 15, Monon, is the daughter of Julie Beckefeld.
The North White freshman was nominated by her mother.
Beckefeld was in Girl Scouts and sold cookies for three years. She also sold candy bars in elementary from second through the fifth grade. She also jumped rope for the heart while raising money.
She was also a member of the North White Middle School Ambassadors for three years and was in many competitions for ensemble contests, marching in parades, and performing out of state. During that time she applied herself to numerous fund-raisers, sang and danced in public for health care centers and many different organizations.
She has been in 4-H for two years and is currently in the Sunshine Society. She has been involved in food drives and pennies for Riley Hospital and has an "Ideal Lady."
Her extracurricular activities include basketball since the second grade, softball since she was 5 years old, played volleyball since the seventh grade, and ran track in the eighth grade. She is currently conditioning for softball.
She was also in band for three years, played the oboe and clarinet, and was in pep band during the eighth grade.
Her academic achievements are for Academic Excellence; Top Girl Student; Presidents Education Award; Top Student for science, social studies, and English; Star Program; Perfect Attendance; Honor Society; Hall of Fame award in track, volleyball and Special Recognition for volleyball. Her grade point average is 10.41.
