By TRENT WRIGHT twright@thehj.com

Featured in this section are 14 area students who have been nominated for the Indiana Leaders of Tomorrow program.

This statewide program, sponsored by EMBARQ, the Herald Journal and the Carroll County Comet, honors area youth in grades 9-12 for their leadership and community volunteerism.

In addition to the students featured in this section, a total of more than 3,000 students from around the state have been nominated for this program. All nominations will be reviewed by a new panel of community leaders.

One of the students pictured in this section will be named a district finalist for this area in mid-April.

There will be a total of 13 district finalists from around the state.

The finalists and the schools they attend will receive a $500 cash award.

One of the 13 district finalists will be named the "Indiana Leader of Tomorrow" winner. This person will receive a $2,500 cash award for college, and his or her high school will receive a $2,500 donation from EMBARQ.

EMBARQ offers an extensive range of innovative communication products and solutions, including global IP, wireless, local and multi-product bundles.
