Parenting seminar to be March 20

Carroll Elementary School will host the nationally acclaimed parenting program "Smart Discipline for Parents" on March 20 from 6-8 p.m.

It will be presented by Richard Voorhees in the John A. Bush Memorial Auditorium at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School.

The workshop is for parents of children of all ages. Parents will be taught the Smart Discipline System and how to insure that their children grow up with high self-esteem.

Parents can expect to be highly entertained and inspired by the presentation. Parents will learn:

1. Why having a good discipline plan is important.

2. How to decide what behavior needs to be changed.

3. Why rules are important.

4. How to design rules effectively.

5. How to self-motivate children to follow the rules.

6. How to implement Smart Discipline.

In addition, parents will discover how to maintain a positive, loving relationship with their children into the teen years.

The seminar is sponsored by Carroll Elementary PTO. Child care will be provided by FCCLA in the Carroll Elementary gym.
