Rodney and Linda May of Claypool announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Dawn, to Chad Michael Turner of Lafayette.

He is the son of Penny and Michael Creek of Lafayette and Mike Turner of Flora, and the grandson of Bill and Mary Mc- Carty of Cutler. He is currently stationed at the U.S. Army base in Aberdeen, Md., with the 143rd Ordinance Battalion.

A summer wedding is being planned.
