Cynthia Sue Peek

Cynthia "Texas Tornado" Sue Smith Peek, 46, of Deer Creek, died at 4:14 p.m. March 5, 2007, at her residence.

Born Jan. 14, 1961, in Amarillo, Texas, she was the daughter of Charles E. Smith and Betty Louelle Shaw. She was married on Dec. 18, 1998, in Delphi, to Floyd Everett "Butch" Peek, who survives.

Mrs. Peek had resided here for 12 years. She had been employed by St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) until May 2004.

She attended school in Amarillo, Texas, and received her CNA training at Claude, Texas.

She was a member of the Ladies of Harley.

Surviving with her husband are her parents, Elmer and Betty Mincey of Amarillo; three daughters, Chanda Hart of Flora, Brittany Vanaman of Amarillo, and Tosha Bosworth of Kokomo; a son, Scott Hart of Stafford, Va.; two brothers, Kevin Smith and Donald Mincey, both of Amarillo; a sister, Cheryl Adams of Amarillo; four grandchildren; three nephews; and four nieces.

A grandson, Cagney Hart, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden. The Rev. Alvin Grumbling will officiate. Burial will be at Camden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
