Juice that orange!
Delphi Community High School Physics I students competed against 10 other high schools from as far away as Michigan during the annual Rube Goldberg machine contest Feb. 24 at Purdue University. Invited by the Purdue Society of Women Engineers to participate, the students' objective was to design and build a machine that took at least 20 steps to juice an orange and pour the juice into a glass in two minutes or less. Delphi's apparatus was successful on two of three attempts and received honorable mention, along with the notoriety of being the first ever Rube Goldberg contestants from Delphi.
