Loyd Yost Quinn

Loyd Yost Quinn, 89, of Ames, Iowa, died Feb. 1, 2007, at Green Hills Health Care Center in Ames.

He was born June 16, 1917, in Cutler, to Emery Lloyd and Velda Ruth Yost Quinn. On June 9, 1945, he married Jeannette Bell in Frankfort. She preceded him in death in 2001.

Mr. Quinn was professor of microbiology at Iowa State University from 1949 until his retirement in 1987.

Among those surviving is a sister, Beth Jackson of Marietta, Ga.

Services and burial were Feb. 6 in Ames.
