'The Great Warming' to be shown March 4 The Hoosier Environmental Council/Northwest Central Region is bringing the documentary, "The Great Warming" to this area. It will be shown at 3 p.m. March 4 at Thomas Duncan Community Hall, 619 Ferry St. in downtown Lafayette. The film will promote awareness about how climate change is affecting our planet, with a focus on local impacts and solutions. Brent Blackwelder, president of the national environmental group Friends of the Earth and the most senior environmental lobbyist in Washington, will be present at Duncan Hall to introduce the 90-minute film as well as conduct the question-andanswer session to follow. The documentary is narrated by Alanis Morissette and Keanu Reeves. Filmed in eight countries across four continents, "The Great Warming" is endorsed by leading climate scientists and by the National Council of Churches. Tickets are available at Duncan Hall. Proceeds will benefit the 15-county local Hoosier Environmental Council. |
