Meetings Rock Creek Extension Homemakers Club met at the home of Marjorie Been. Roll call was answered by three members. Marjorie Been gave devotions. She also gave the health and safety lesson, "Go Bananas." She said bananas are good for depression, blood pressure, and heart burn. She also mentioned that she read at Head Start in January and made 15 bears for the county. Grace Deel also read for Head Start in January. Project lessons for the coming year were voted on. For cultural arts, Wiladean Snoeberger read the differences between George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. For citizenship, she read, "A Little Town." She also won the door prize. The club did not meet in December and January. In December, Kathy Snoeberger delivered sweat pants from the club to Camden Elementary School. Delphi Lions Delphi Lions met Feb. 21 at the Stone Barn. Discussion included the teacher of the year award and an upcoming factory tour. A donation to purchase a pig to be painted and sold for the Delphi Fine Arts Council was approved. Delphi Odd Fellows Delphi Odd Fellows Lodge 28 held their spring district meeting with the Lafayette lodge on Feb. 19. Delphi lodge recently merged with Rockfield lodge. The lodge will offer a $1,000 scholarship for higher education to a Delphi Community High School senior. Details are being worked out with the high school. The next district meeting will be Sept. 10. |
