Community Thank You Carroll County has supported Kokomo Rescue Mission (KRM) by recently donating canned goods from the Flora United Methodist Church preschool. Jean Rinehart, Independent Longaberger consultant, sponsored "Walk A Mile in My Shoes," which benefits Open Arms, the Mission's shelter for homeless women and children. Cutler Presbyterian, Faith Church of Christ of Burlington, Living Faith Church of the Brethren, and the Carroll Girls' Varsity Basketball team participated in the Walk by collectively raising over $4,600 and walking on that brisk, cold morning. These Carroll County residents, churches, groups, and individuals realize the need and importance of helping others, and responded to the call for help! In return, Kokomo Rescue Mission is pleased to consistently help families from Carroll County through our Care & Share Store with free clothing and other household items they may need. The Mission's Red Ribbon Christmas Boxes go out to families in the area. KRM's men's shelter and Open Arms are available to house individuals from the five surrounding counties who loose their homes and need a warm, safe place to stay. The Mission simply wants to say "Thank you, Carroll County," for hearing the call to help those less fortunate, and responding with compassion and kindness to a world and community in need. Philippians 1:3 says it best, "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you'. |
