Delphi UMC to host special services

Delphi United Methodist Church will host the annual Ash Wednesday service, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. It is a time of penitence and remembrance of our sins. Palm branches are usually burned and the sign of the cross is placed on the forehead using ashes. Members of the community are invited to this meaningful service.

The church will sponsor a Global Outreach Seminar, led by the reverends Roger Wright and Larry Saunders from the Mission Society, Feb. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Feb. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Founded in 1984, the Mission Society supports 203 missionaries from 16 different denominations in 31 nations around the world.
