50th anniversary open house

John and Marilyn Crowel of Jefferson Township, Carroll County, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, hosted by their children and grandchildren. The event will be held on Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Anheier Building at the Monticello City Park.

Crowel and the former Marilyn Cauble were married on Feb. 24, 1957, at the Monticello Christian Church on Bluff Street.

They are retired from farming and still reside in the farm home they moved into 50 years ago.

Her mother, Inez Cauble, resides in Monticello.

The couple has three children, Ted Crowel (wife: Becky) and Tim Crowel (wife: Jackie) of Delphi, and Julie O'Farrell (husband: Brent) of Monticello, and eight grandchildren.

Because friendship is a gift, the family requests that no other is needed.
