DCHS girls' swim team sets records

The Delphi Community High School girls' swim team ended its season with a ninth place finish at sectional.

Senior Shannon Kremer placed third in the 200 Free and second in the 500 Free. Arielle Brosman was ninth in the 100 Breaststroke and Mara Burton was 12th in the 100 Free. The 200 medley relay team of Monica Hutsell, Brosman, Jenny Maxwell and Ashlee Buchanon placed 11th with a time of 2:16.82. Kremer and Burton teamed with Keltie Lake and Kayleigh Morgan for sixth place finishes in the 200 and 400 Free relays, which set school records of 1:49.86 and 4:07.00 at Thursday preliminaries.

High school swim team coach Al Brannan said the he was happy with the team's performance.

"We did pretty well," he commented. "We had two relay teams finish in the top six. It was great."

Brannan had high praise for Kremer. She holds nine of 12 records at Delphi, including six for individual events.

"Kremer has been the greatest swimmer ever at Delphi," he declared.
